Proverb 3

1 My son, do not forget my teaching,

    but keep my commands in your heart,

2 for they will prolong your life many years

    and bring you peace and prosperity.

무엇인가를 잊어버린다는 것은 그 전에 알았다는 것입니다. 알지도 못하는 것을 잊을 수는 없습니다. 하나님은 우리에게 "나의 가르침을 잊지 말라"고 명령하십니다. 우리가 먼저 해야 할 일은 주님의 법, 주님의 가르침이 무엇인지를 바로 알아야 합니다. 우리의 마음으로 주님의 명령을 지키라는 말씀 또한 그 명령이 무엇인지를 바로 알아야 지킬 수가 있습니다. 말씀을 읽지 않고는 오늘의 1절 말씀을 절대 따를 수가없습니다.

주님이 그 다음 주시는 축복의 말씀은 1절의 말씀에 순종하면 오래살고 평안하고 풍요롭게 된다고 하셨습니다. 이 축복이 우리가 인간세상에서 생각하는 그런 축복일까요? 영원하신 하나님 입장에서 보면 인간이 오래 살면 백 살인데 몇 년 더 살고 덜 사는 것이 축복의 차이는 아닐 것입니다. 우리가 물질이 넉넉해서 가질 수 있는 마음의 여유나 풍요로움이 하나님 입장에서 주실 축복은 아닐 것입니다.

To forget something, you have known it before. You cannot forget what you never knew. God commands us, "Do not forget my teaching." The first thing we must do is to know what the law of the Lord, His teachings, are. With our hearts, we must understand what His commandments are in order to keep them. Without reading the Word, we can never follow today's verse.

The blessings that follow God's next words are to live long, have peace, and be prosperous if we obey the words of the verse. Is this the kind of blessing that we think of in the human world? From the perspective of the eternal God, whether a human lives a hundred years or a few more years, it might not be the difference in blessing. The abundance or prosperity in our hearts that comes from material wealth is not the blessing that God gives from His perspective.

3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;

    bind them around your neck,

    write them on the tablet of your heart.

4 Then you will win favor and a good name

    in the sight of God and man.

'사랑과 믿음이 네게서 떠나지 않게하고, 목에 두르고, 마음 깊이 새기라'고 하셨습니다. 그러면 하나님과 사람에게 인정을 받을 것이라고 하셨습니다. 사랑 중에 가장 귀한 사랑은 예수 그리스도가 우리의 죄를 위해 대신 죽으신 그 사랑입니다. 믿음 역시 그것을 믿는 믿음입니다. 이 사랑과 믿음을 굳게 지키는 것이 먼저일 때 하나님께서는 우리가 항상 고민하는 것을 그냥 해결해 주십니다. 우리는 먼저해야 할 것을 하지 않은 채 나의 인간관계를 걱정하고, 내가 인정받지 못하는 것 같아 슬퍼하고 괴로워 할 때가 많습니다. 그러나 오늘의 말씀을 보면 답이 있습니다.

He said, 'Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.' Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. The most precious love among all loves is the love of Jesus Christ, who died in our place for our sins. Faith, too, is the faith in Him. When we firmly keep this love and faith, God takes care of what we often worry about. Many times, we find ourselves worrying about our human relationships without doing what we should do first. We feel sad and troubled, thinking we are not recognized by others. However, today's words provide an answer.

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart

    and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him,

    and he will make your paths straight.

앞서 말한 사랑과 믿음을 깊이 새긴 그 마음을 다해서 주 하나님을 신뢰하고 우리가 이해할 수 있는 정도에 기대지 말라고 하십니다. 그리고 모든 일에 하나님께 복종하면 우리의 길을 곧게 만들어 주실 것입니다. 우리가 가야 할 길은 예수그리스도와 함께 하는 길이고, 주 하나님께서는 이미 말씀을 통해 길을 인도하셨고, 영원한 생명을 갖는 축복을 우리는 이미 받았습니다. 

God tells us this: Trust Him with all your heart, filled with the love and faith (as mentioned earlier verses). Don't rely only on what you understand. If you obey God in everything, He will make your path straight and clear. The path we should follow is the one where we walk with Jesus Christ. God has already shown us the way through His words, and we have received the blessing of eternal life."

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;

    fear the Lord and shun evil.

8 This will bring health to your body

    and nourishment to your bones.

하나님은 우리의 눈높이 수준으로 지혜롭다 여기지 말라고 하십니다. 대신 주 하나님을 두려워하고 악에서 떠나라고 하십니다. 5절에서 우리 머리로 이해하는 그 수준에 기대지 말라 하신 것과 마찬가지입니다. 이렇게 하면 우리의 몸이 건강해지고 뼈가 강건해집니다. 우리 육신도 그렇겠지만 그리스도의 몸인 교회를 생각해보면 이해가 빠릅니다. 인간의 머리에서 이해하는 대로 대하다보면 서로 상처주고 상처 받고 교회 내에서 실망을 하고 떠나기도 합니다. 그러나, 주님을 두려워하고 악에서 떠나라는 그 말씀을 붙잡고 신앙생활을 할 때, 그리스도의 몸인 교회는 점점 강건해집니다.

God instructs us not to consider ourselves wise. Instead, He commands us to fear the Lord and turn away from evil. This aligns with His message in verse 5, advising us not to rely on our own understanding. By doing so, our bodies become healthy, and our bones nourished. This applies not only to our physical bodies but also, considering the body of Christ, the Church. If we approach it merely with human understanding, it often leads to hurting one another, experiencing disappointments, and people leaving the church. However, when we cling to His command to fear the Lord and shun evil in our faith journey, the body of Christ, the Church, grows increasingly stronger.

9 Honor the Lord with your wealth,

    with the firstfruits of all your crops;

10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,

    and your vats will brim over with new wine.

하나님은 우리에게 우리가 할 수 있는 것을 당부하셨습니다. 내가 가진 것으로, 내 첫 열매로 주님을 공경하라고 하셨습니다. 주님은 우리를 너무 잘 아시기에 우리가 시험에 들만한 것을 요구하지도 않으셨습니다. 우리가 이 세상에 살고 있기에, 우리가 주님을 잊지 않도록 하시려고, 이런 명령을 하셨다고 생각합니다. 여기서 끝내신 것이 아니라 그러고 나면 창고가 가득차고 포도즙 틀에 새 포도즙이 넘칠거라는 축복도 주셨습니다. 주님과의 관계를 우선시하면 그 다음 우리는 우리가 가진 것이 차고 넘치게됨을 고백하게 됩니다. 주님과의 관계가 멀어지면 아무리 많은 물질이 있어도 부족하다고 생각될 것입니다.  우리 열방교회 차세대교회학교 모든 학생들의 최우선순위가 예수그리스도가 되기를 기도하고 축복합니다.

God asked us to honor Him with what we have, with our firstfruits. He didn't demand what we can't bear because He knows us well. I think He gave us this command so that we won't forget Him while living in this world. It's not just about ending it here; He also blessed us with the promise that our barns will be filled, and our vats will overflow with new wine. When we prioritize our relationship with the Lord, we confess that everything we have overflows. If our relationship with the Lord becomes distant, no matter how much material wealth we possess, it will feel insufficient. I pray and bless all the students of our ANC Next-generation Church School to prioritize Jesus Christ above all else.
