Revelation 7

1 After this I saw four angels. They were standing at the four corners of the earth. They were holding back the four winds of the earth. This kept the winds from blowing on the land or the sea or on any tree.

2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east. He brought the official seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels. They had been allowed to harm the land and the sea.

3 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees,” he said. “Wait until we mark with this seal the foreheads of those who serve our God.”

4 Then I heard how many people were marked with the seal. There were 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

5 From the tribe of Judah, 12,000 were marked with the seal.

From the tribe of Reuben, 12,000.

From the tribe of Gad, 12,000.

6 From the tribe of Asher, 12,000.

From the tribe of Naphtali, 12,000.

From the tribe of Manasseh, 12,000.

7 From the tribe of Simeon, 12,000.

From the tribe of Levi, 12,000.

From the tribe of Issachar, 12,000.

8 From the tribe of Zebulun, 12,000.

From the tribe of Joseph, 12,000.

From the tribe of Benjamin, 12,000.

여러분, 언제 도장이 필요한가요? 우리가 집을 팔고 살때 계약서를 쓰고 도장을 찍습니다. 물론 요즘은 사인을 합니다. 이 문서는 이 집이 내 것이라는 표시입니다. 오늘의 말씀에서 요한은 하나님의 도장을 가져온 천사를 봅니다. 그 천사는 땅과 바다를 해할 수 있는 천사에게 큰 소리로 말합니다."우리가 우리 하나님의 종들의 이마에 도장을 찍을 때까지는 땅이나 바다나 나무들을 해하지 말아라" 왜 천사가 땅이나 바다나 나무를 해하려 할까요? 이것이 의미하는 것은 하나님의 심판입니다. 하나님은 사랑의 하나님이지만 동시에 공의로우신 하나님이시기에 예수님을 통해서 죄씻음을 받지 못한 사람들의 죄는 모두 심판하셔야 합니다.  

When do we need a seal or a stamp? For example, when we buy or sell a house, we sign or stamp a contract. This document is proof that the house belongs to us. In today’s passage, John sees an angel carrying the seal of God. The angel speaks loudly to the other angels who have the power to harm the land and the sea, saying: "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." Why would the angels harm the land, sea, or trees? This represents God’s judgment. While God is a loving God, He is also a just God. Because of His justice, He must judge the sins of those who have not received forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

우리는 죄씻음을 받았나요? 네. 우리의 모든 죄는 예수그리스도께서 대신 십자가에 돌아가심으로 깨끗하게 되었고, 이를 믿기 때문에 우리는 하나님의 나라에 들어갈 수 있는 것입니다. 하나님은 한 사람이라도 더 천국에 들어오기를 원하시지만, 하나님의 때가 되어 심판을 하셔야만 할 때는 믿는 자들은 하나님의 도장을 받아 심판을 받지 않게 하십니다.  이 도장의 의미는 하나님의 사람을 지키고 보호하신다는 뜻입니다. 

Have we been cleansed of our sins? Yes. All our sins have been washed away because Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. By believing in this, we are able to enter God’s kingdom. God desires for everyone to come into His kingdom, but when the time for judgment comes, those who believe will receive God’s seal and will not face judgment. The meaning of this seal is that God protects and keeps His people safe.
