John 15
1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful.
3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
예수그리스도는 참 포도나무요 하나님 아버지는 농부이십니다. 하나님께서는 열매를 맺지 못하는 모든 가지는 제거해 버리시지만 열매 맺는 가지는 가지치기를 하셔서 더 많은 열매를 맺게 하십니다. 너희는 내가 일러준 말로 이미 깨끗게 하였다고 예수님은 말씀 하십니다. 죄인이었던 우리는 예수그리스도께서 나의 죄를 지시고 십자가에서 돌아가셨다는 그 복음을 믿음으로 깨끗케 되었습니다. 이렇게 영원한 생명을 얻은 우리는 그리스도 안에 거해야 합니다. 그리고 또한 그리스도께서도 우리 안에 계셔야 합니다. 왜냐하면 그리스도께서는 참 포도나무이시고 우리는 가지라서 가지가 나무를 떠나서는 열매를 맺을 수 없기 때문입니다. 가지가 나무에 붙어서 열매를 맺으면 하나님께서 더 많은 열매를 맺을 수 있게 가지치기를 해 주신다고 하셨습니다.
Jesus Christ is the true vine, and God the Father is the gardener. He removes every branch in Christ that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. Jesus tells us that we are already clean because of the word He has spoken to us. As sinners, we have been cleansed by believing in the gospel—that Jesus Christ bore our sins and died on the cross. Having received eternal life, we must remain in Christ, and Christ must also remain in us. This is because Christ is the true vine, and we are the branches; a branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine. When a branch remains attached to the vine and bears fruit, God prunes it to make it even more fruitful.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
예수그리스도 안에 거하지 않으면 결국은 불에 태워지는 가지가 된다고 하십니다. 그러나 우리가 그리스도 안에 거하고 말씀이 우리 안에 있으면 무엇을 원하든지 원하는대로 된다고 하십니다. 나와 예수그리스도의 관계가 얼마나 중요한지를 알려주고 계십니다. 우리가 그리스도 안에 거하고 말씀이 우리 안에 있으면 우리가 무엇을 원하게 될까요? 나의 인간적인 욕심이나 재물일까요? 하나님의 나라를 확장하는 일을 소망하게 될 것입니다. 이러한 소망을 가질 때 하나님께서는 능력도 주십니다. 이는 결국 하나님 아버지의 영광을 위한 것이 될 것입니다.
Jesus Christ warns that if we do not remain in Him, we will become like branches that are eventually thrown into the fire and burned. However, if we remain in Christ and His words remain in us, we can ask whatever we wish, and it will be done for us. This teaching emphasizes the importance of our relationship with Jesus Christ. When we abide in Christ and His words dwell within us, our desires align with God's will, leading us to seek the expansion of His kingdom rather than personal gain or wealth. With such godly desires, God grants us the necessary strength and abilities, ultimately bringing glory to the Father.
