1 King 11
1 King Solomon, however, loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites.
2 They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love.
3 He had seven hundred wives of royal birth and three hundred concubines, and his wives led him astray.
2절 말씀에서 하나님은 이미 이스라엘 백성에게 "너희는 그들과 결혼을 하고자 해서도 안 되고, 그들이 청혼하여 오더라도 받아들여서는 안 된다. 분명히 그들은 너희의 마음을, 그들이 믿는 신에게로 기울어지게 할 것이다"고 말씀하셨습니다. 지혜로운 솔로몬은 이를 모를리 없었으나 3절에서 보면 솔로몬은 700명의 부인과 300명의 첩을 둡니다. 하나님이 태초에 인간을 창조하실때 아담과 하와를 서로 돕는 베필로 만드셨습니다. 한 명의 배우자를 평생 알아가고 사랑하고 섬기기에도 쉬운 일이 아닌데, 한 남자가 천 명의 여자들과 가족이 된다는 것은 한명에게도 제대로 할 수 없는 환경임을 말하는 것입니다. In verse 2, God has already said to the Israelites, "You shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons. For they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods." Solomon, the wise, could not have been unaware of this, yet in verse 3, we see that Solomon had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines. When God created humanity in the beginning, He made Adam and Eve to be partners who would help each other. Building a lifelong relationship of knowing, loving, and serving one spouse isn't easy. Saying that one man can become a family with a thousand women highlights an environment where even one relationship couldn't be properly maintained.
4 As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been.
5 He followed Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites.
6 So Solomon did evil in the eyes of the Lord; he did not follow the Lord completely, as David his father had done.
7 On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek the detestable god of the Ammonites.
8 He did the same for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and offered sacrifices to their gods.
천 명이나 되는 여자와 결혼을 한다는 것은 너무나 많은 문제를 가져옵니다. 젊고 지혜가 많을때는 판단을 잘 할 수 있는 일도 늙고 정신이 맑지 않으면 판단력이 흐려집니다. 솔로몬이 늙어가면서 부인과 첩들은 솔로몬을 꾀어 이방신을 섬기도록 만듭니다. 솔로몬은 하나님이 가장 싫어하는 우상을 섬기는 일을 하게됩니다. Marrying a thousand women brings forth countless issues. While one may possess sound judgment in youth and wisdom, aging can cloud one's discernment. As Solomon grew older, his wives and concubines persuaded him to worship foreign gods, something detested by God.
9 The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.
10 Although he had forbidden Solomon to follow other gods, Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command.
11 So the Lord said to Solomon, “Since this is your attitude and you have not kept my covenant and my decrees, which I commanded you, I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your subordinates.
12 Nevertheless, for the sake of David your father, I will not do it during your lifetime. I will tear it out of the hand of your son.
13 Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom from him, but will give him one tribe for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”
하나님은 사랑의 하나님이신 동시에 공의로우신 하나님입니다. 따라서 죄의 문제를 해결하지 않고는 하나님 나라로 인간을 받아들이실 수가 없습니다. 오늘날 은혜의 시대에 살고있는 우리는 예수그리스도를 믿음으로 구원을 받습니다. 예수님이 오시기 전 솔로몬 시대에는 하나님이 주신 율법을 따라 사는 것이 매우 중요했습니다. 그러나 가장 중요한 율법을 어긴 솔로몬에게 하나님은 마음을 돌리셨습니다. 우리는 하나님의 피조물이기에 창조주이신 하나님이 인간을 떠나시면 인간은 더이상 아무것도 아닙니다. 예수그리스도를 구주로 모신 우리는 죄사함의 은혜를 매일 기억하고, 주님께 감사하며, 예수그리스도만 의지하는 삶을 살아야합니다. God is a God of love and at the same time a God of justice. Therefore, without resolving the issue of sin, God cannot accept humans into His kingdom. Living in the era of grace today, we receive salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. In the time of Solomon before Jesus came, it was very important to live according to the laws given by God. However, God turned away from Solomon, who violated the most important law. As creatures of God, if the Creator God leaves humans, they are nothing. Having been saved by Jesus Christ, our Savior, we must daily remember the grace of forgiveness, give thanks to the Lord, and live a life relying only on Jesus Christ.
